RCMP AND IDI REGINA PARTNERED RAMAZAN FAST BREAKING DINNER
IDI Regina and RCMP has organized Ramadan Fast-breaking Dinner together to emphasize fasting and social justice in the Holy month of Ramadan.
The theme of the night was “Fasting and Social Justice”. Saskatchewan NDP leader Mr. Trent Wotherspoon, MLA Warren Stainley, executive officers of RCMP, and civil society leaders have participated to this special Ramadan Dinner. The Professor emeritus of Politics and International Studies at University of Regina John Whyte was the keynote speaker of the night.
IDI Regina and RCMP have organized Ramadan Fast-breaking dinner together for the first time that made people from different backgrounds come together around the same table.
Mr. Hasan Topal, one of the IDI Regina boards of directors, has made the welcome speech and he gave some information about the IDI foundation and its missions and visions. On behalf of RCMP, Corporal David Douangchanh came to stage to make welcome speech. After welcome speeches, an introductory video about IDI foundation has represented to the guests.
Saskatchewan NDP Party leader Mr. Trent Wotherspoon and MLA Warren Stainley have invited to the stage to make some remarks about the IDI foundation and its events and role in the society. Mr. Wotherspoon has also stressed that IDI has a leader role in the Regina society.
An introductory video about the Holy month of Ramadan has presented after their remarks. At the end of video, there was `call of prayer` that means everyone is allowed to break their fasts. There were some popular dishes and desserts from Turkish cuisine those have been served to the guests.
The keynote speaker of the Dinner Prof John Whyte, professor emeritus of politics and international studies at University of Regina, has invited to the stage to make his keynote speech. Prof. John Whyte has started his speech by showing his sorrow about Istanbul Ataturk Airport bombing. “Ramadan and fasting help people strengthen the feeling of understanding needy and poor people and being aware of their situation and help them.” Prof Whyte has also stressed that the month of Ramadan and fasting eliminate discrimination, differences and separation from societies.
The Ramadan Fast-breaking Dinner partnered by IDI Regina and RCMP has finished with good wishes to everyone and family photos.

RCMP VE İDİ REGİNA ORTAK RAMAZAN İFTAR YEMEĞI
Kanada Kraliyet Polis Servisi (RCMP) ve Regina Kültürlerarası Diyalog Enstitüsü (İDİ) mübarek Ramazan ayında oruç ve sosyal adalete vurgu yapmak için ortak Ramazan İftar yemeği düzenlediler.
Gecenin teması “Oruç ve Sosyal Adalet” olan iftar yemeğine Muhalefet Parti lideri, milletvekilleri, üst düzey RCMP amirleri ve sivil toplum yetkilileri katıldılar. Programın ana konuşmacısı Regina Üniversitesi Politika ve Uluslararası İlişkiler bölümünde profesör olan sayın John Whyte idi.
İDİ Regina ve RCMP birlikte ilk kez düzenledikleri Ramazan iftar yemeği sivil toplumu üyelerini ve güvenlik güçlerini aynı masası etrafında topladı ve birbirlerini daha iyi tanıma ve paylaşımlarda bulunma fırsatı verdi.
Programın açılış konuşmasını yapan Hasan Topal bey İDİ vakfının vizyonu ve misyonu hakkında misafirlere bilgi verdi. RCMP adına hoşgeldiniz konuşmasını yapmak için kürsüye onbaşı David Douangchanh davet edildi. İDİ Regina vakfının tanıtım videosunun izlenmesinin ardından Muhalefet Parti lideri Trent Wotherspoon ve Milletvekili Warren Stainley iftar programı ve İDİ vakfı hakkındaki izlenimlerini paylaşmaları adına kürsüye geldiler.
Misafirlere izlettirilen Ramazan tanıtım videosunun ardından okunan ezan ile program yemeklerin yenmesiyle devam etti.
Yemeğin ardından kürsüye ana konuşmacı Profesör John Whyte davet edildi. Prof Whyte konuşmasına İstanbul Atatürk Havaalanında meydana gelen patlamadan dolayı üzüntülerini belirterek başladı. Ramazanın ve oruç tutmanın insanlarda ihtiyaç sahibi olan insanlara karşı farkındalık ve yardım etme duygusunu kuvvetlendirdiğine dikkat çeken prof Whyte aynı zamanda ayrılıkları, farklılıkları, ve bölünmüşlüğü de ortadan kaldırdığına vurgu yaptı.
Yoğun bir katılımın olduğu program iyi temenni dilekleriyle ve misafirlerin RCMP yetkilileriyle toplu çektirdileri fotoğraflar ile sona erdi.
