Responsible Citizenship and Social Cohesion


Intercultural Dialogue Institute of Regina organized its 3rd Annual Friendship Dinner at Hotel Saskatchewan Radisson Plaza.

Our distinguished guests include Hon. Andrew Sheer, Speaker of the House of Commons.  Hon. Vaughn Solomon Schofield, Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan. Hon. Dan D’Autremont, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. MP Hon. Ralph Goodale – Liberal. Honorable Mark Docherty Minister of Parks, Culture and Sport. Michael Fougere Regina Mayor. Vianne Timmons University of Regina President. Chief. T. Hagen Regina Police Chief.. Minister Members of Cabinet , Opposition Leaders, Members of Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, representatives from  the Regina Police, academicians, faith and community leaders, business leaders, journalists, NGOs and many others.

Following the greeting message of, Hon. Vaughn Solomon Schofield said: this my third time I am participating IDI Regina friendship and dialog dinner and I keep coming IDI dinner because I believe IDI Regina had and has done many efforts for our cultural diversity. And they continue to do that.    Following the Lieutenant Governor, Speaker of House of Commons Hon. Andrew Scheer congratulated IDI Regina for bringing diverse communities together in Regina.

Distinguished speakers of the night also included Hon. Mark Docherty Minister of Parks, Culture and Sport, Honorable. Regina Mayor Michael Fougere .Keynote speech was delivered by Prof. John Meehan President of Campion College at University if Regina   


IDI Regina established the ““Responsible Citizenship and Social Cohesion”” Award to recognize a person or institution for outstanding community service. The recipient for the award was Anna Duke who established early childhood education and after school program in 1970s. Her works was for better growing social and responsible citizen and educated young people for social society.  Her award was presented by MLA Warren Stienley. The event concluded with a family photo.​
